DANIEL & SHANI
Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time?
Dan and I met at high school and fell for each other whilst in the process of failing A-Level Biology. We were both so terrible at the subject that the teacher sat us together and from that moment on, we didn’t get very much work done! Dan still works at the school as a Assistant Facilities Manager and I work as a Business Transformation Manager for a co-operative organisation. We love spending time with our family and friends, and we are also big foodies so you can often find us at dinner parties or trying out local cafes and restaurants. We spend most of our free time together taking our three dogs Milo, Cooper and Gus for long walks in the Cotswolds, where we live. We also love to visit new countries and are hoping to do some more travelling now that we no longer have to save our pennies for a wedding!
What was important to you when planning your wedding and what was your day like?
The most important thing for us was for our guests to have a great day. We were so lucky with the beautiful weather that we were able to have our wedding reception outside in the gardens at the Costwold House Hotel. We wanted to have a really relaxed day so we chose to have a BBQ instead of a traditional three-course meal, which worked really well. There were moments throughout the day when we both stood together and looked around at everyone; it was such a lovely feeling watching people enjoying themselves, having the kids run around the garden, the magician shocking everyone with his entertainment, people tucking into their food and lots of free flowing drinks! Overall there was a really lovely feel to the day and we are so happy with how it all turned out. We also put a lot of effort into personalised touches throughout the day, for instance, we made almost all of the decorations ourselves and it was so rewarding to see how it all came together beautifully on the day.
Why did you choose Tynegate Films to capture your wedding?
We chose Tynegate Films because Ben captures the day unlike any other videographer. We love the cinematic, stunning storytelling that he achieves, coupled with high quality images and beautiful editing, and we just knew his work was perfect. What we didn’t know beforehand, however, was how much we would both enjoy having Ben there as part of our special day. We really felt like we had shared the day with a friend as Ben’s lovely personality shone through and helped us to both relax in front of the camera. The films are so beautiful and we will treasure them for the rest of our lives. The best decision we made was to have Tynegate Films capture our wedding!
