DANIEL & ZINDZI
The Barbican, an iconic Brutalist estate in the heart of London designed by modernist architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bonn, is renowned for being a centre for the arts and design. This development is a cultural hub combining public spaces with pockets of light in the tiled plazas that are framed by the ‘beton brut’ concrete.
Upon visiting many years ago, I knew that I one day wanted to film in the space and was therefore delighted when Daniel and Zindzi contacted me to tell me of their plans. They chose to say their vows and celebrate their wedding day in the Barbican Conservatory, a luscious oasis tucked away within this concrete jungle and perfectly fitting for the young London creatives. Still Life Flowers created a minimalist floral landscape of dried seed heads to compliment the luscious greenery and guests were entertained throughout the day by an eclectic mix of musical accompaniments reflecting significant parts of the couple’s lives.
