WESLEY & LISA
Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time?
Wes and I have one of those cliche 'fall in love at work' stories. We saw each other across the desks and love blossomed. We live together in our little house in Tunbridge Wells with our mischievous cat, Ace. Since we got married, all of this time has become available again, where we don’t have to think about table runners and who should sit next to whom! We like a competitive game of Risk on a Sunday afternoon with a good glass of wine, English pubs with a yummy roast and getting together with friends and family.
What was important to you when planning your wedding and what was your day like?
We wanted a chilled out wedding that reflected who we are as a couple. The church in Ashdown Forest, where Wes grew up, had plenty of sentimental meaning with his parents getting married there 34 years prior. The reception venue was held in one of our local town’s rustic pubs (The Beacon), set within the Kent countryside. We wanted both places to be somewhere we could go back to and reminisce about our special day. We wanted our guests to have an awesome day (nothing too formal) and a big old party to boot.
Why did you choose Tynegate Films to capture your wedding?
Wes and I sat down with his parents to watch their own wedding video, and at that moment we both looked at each other and realised what we would be missing if we didn’t get our special day filmed. Ben was everything we were looking for, relaxed, authentic and natural. His montages of other weddings really resonated with us; the way he edits them into these flawless, flowing films really caught our eye along with all the small details that he captures that people would otherwise forget about. From there on in, we only wanted one man!
